Guide to build a quick social media strategy for your business
1. Set relevant and realistic social media marketing goals
One of the most significant problems faced by many businesses engaged in social media is that they have never spent the time to set relevant and realistic social media marketing goals. They know they need to be on social media, but they have no idea why they are there. First things first: you need to figure out what you want out of social media at large.
2. Research your audience
Knowing your potential audience who is going to use your service or product is very important. You might be a middle-aged executive who uses Facebook. However, if you personally don’t match the target market of your business, you can’t automatically assume that your customers will also be spending their time on Facebook. Understanding your target audience will help you boost relative advertisements or content.
3. Start using chatbots
You may have already heard, but chatbots are in. Chatbots can communicate and resolve problems for your customers without the potential need for any human interruption. You don’t require any coding knowledge to use chatbots. They can answer customer questions for you. For example, chatbots are able to take orders directly from Facebook Messenger and comments.
4. Create social videos
Videos are huge on social media and their influence will get even bigger – we’re not only talking Facebook but all other social platforms too, like Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Pushing a native video on the newsfeed is the best way to hit your potential customer base.
And by video, we mean a short clip of 3-90 seconds. On average, one minute is the sweet spot (though this also depends on your audience and platform). The key here is to actually create a video. Don’t use YouTube embed links, especially on Facebook. Remember Facebook hates YouTube 😉
5. Get consistent with the content you share on social media
Try to have some sort of core content that you own. This could be a blog, a podcast or a video. It’s important that you post these on your website so that they are hosted on your space. Be consistent with the type of content you share on weekdays. Like Mondays for motivational quotes, Tuesdays for tips around your business and on Fridays you might want to share case studies.
